Why I Work with MarketLeverage

17 05 2008

As background, I recently signed up for a MarketLeverage account after Tyler Cruz first mentioned them last month - the “MarketLeverage visits Tyler!”). First off, I had never used them (heard of yes, used no) so this was a good enough endorsement to get tip the scale in checking it out. So I signed up, and logged in…to say the least I was excited and also stoked.

Enough talk, let’s check out the Affiliate ‘Home’ Dashboard Screenshot!
Check out all the Brand Name Affiliate Offers! - SouthWest, Wal Mart, Sams Club, Home Depot, etc...

The first thing I was excited about was the amount of Large Brand Name offers that they had to offer. I mean Wal Mart, Home Depot, SouthWest Airlines, Sams Club and MANY MORE…I was in Affiliate heaven. Having used CJ, and ClickBank for years - this was a breath of Fresh Air to see that MarketLeverage had such a strong ‘high-brow’ Affiliate Offering. Now let’s dig deeper into the interface…

Below you will see the “Top 20″ Offers section…this is in my opinion the best place to check out the newest and ‘freshest’ and ‘Niche’ Affiliate offers to dip your proverbial toe into.
Sample of Top 20 Affiliate Offers on MarketLeverage
I circled just a sample of the $25+ USD Offers that are out there for leads and sales - the best part is 90% of the sale/lead offers don’t require 100% of the amount (i.e. $1.00 S&H = $25 USD Affiliate payout!). They truly have great value and limited time offers for the consumers and affiliates alike - bravo, gracias, hoi san, merci, thanks!

Now for the customer support - I was contacted by my personal Affiliate Manager the next day after signing up, he was very kind and knowledgeable. I also learned MarketLeverage is no ’small shop’ or ‘flash-in-the-pan’ start-up; they have over 50+ employees and been established for over 7 years. My Manager helped me understand the admin section and also offered to help in any way possible - it’s always good to see a online marketing company that cares about the affiliates as much as the publishers.

I will go into the Affiliate Analytics section in a future post, but for now, I encourage all my readers (who are interested in making more money!) to go signup for a MarketLeverage Affiliate Account today!

Microsoft Withdraws Offer For Yahoo - WashingtonPost.com

4 05 2008
Microsoft has decided to walk away from its bid for Yahoo NSDQ: YHOO. Said Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer in a statement: “We continue to believe that our proposed acquisition made sense for Microsoft, Yahoo and the market as a whole. Our goal in pursuing a combination with Yahoo was to provide greater choice and innovation in the marketplace and create real value for our respective stockholders and employees. Despite our best efforts, including raising our bid by roughly $5 billion, Yahoo has not moved toward accepting our offer. After careful consideration, we believe the economics demanded by Yahoo do not make sense for us, and it is in the best interests of Microsoft stockholders, employees and other stakeholders to withdraw our proposal.”

I wonder if Yahoo will plummet or surge in after hours trading. Ballmer imho will try pull a ‘Larry Ellison’ and swoop in eventually buying Yahoo at a steep discount - similar to the Oracle/BEA buyout debacle…remember there is around $10+ of ‘buyout’ inflation value baked into their current pricing.

This battle is far from over in my opinion - and honestly after reading Ballmers withdrawal letter myself I don’t blame him one bit for letting Yahoo’s executive egos deflate a bit.

SearchMe.com Demo Launched

11 03 2008

SearchMe.com Introduction Video:

SearchMe.com Demo Video:

Their Press Release is pretty thorough - found here. I also like the iTunes like Album playlist navigation similarity - very slick. This actually is reminiscent to the A9 or Snap! visual page interfaces attempts from years ago.

I hope people catch on, or they get purchased quickly. This looks like a fantastic new interface for Search to evolve into.

There are a lot of good panels to attend as well, I’m most interested in the one ‘Winning Domain Name Portfolio Strategies for Corporations and Businesses’ looks sweet.

I’ve never attended a Domainfest previously, so I hope to see others there!

My Secret Project is Almost Ready!!!!

1 01 2008

top-secret82619.jpgHey there everyone, I am almost done with my Top Secret project…if you already didn’t know this specific project has is the culmination of over 2+ years of tedious work. As many of you know, I have been in the SEO/SEM space for some time now (6+ years). I currently am a professional PPC and SEO expert both at my day job, and as a hobby - SEM truly is
my one single passion.

A lot of my SEM business specialty is in PPC (Pay-Per-Click), so I license many fantastic tools that help me and my team manage many client (and in-house) accounts (DART, KeywordMax, MOJO SEM, Omniture Search Etc.). Without these automated bid tools with integrated reporting and analytics engines my/our collective lives would be much more difficult. After working with countless SEO tools; I had concluded that there are very few GOOD/GREAT SEO Toolsets out there (honestly). How do I know? Well, I have tested over 20+ of them in the past 6+ years, some of the better ones are WebPosition, WebCEO, SEOToolset (BC) SEOElite etc. (many other poor ones!) and was never 100% satisfied.

So, last year I decided to truly refine my work towards developing a comprehensive SEO Toolset - and turn the fragments I had into a comprehensive SEO Suite. Recently, I have been working nights/weekends developing an ‘in-house’ software and toolset that I felt could benefiit myself as well as countless others. So, I partnered up with my longtime development peep Kyle Bunch and we are furiously building xxxxx.com. xxxxx.com is the worlds first easy to use, comprehensive ASP-hosted SEO solution available for Mac/Windows/Linux (any browser compatible Computer).

We are very excited about the upcoming launch of xxxxx.com so please stay tuned for more insight and rumors as we get closer to release!!!

My Favorite Top 5 Viral Videos of 2007

24 12 2007

1. Cadbury - Gorilla Drummer
Honestly this is one of my favorites, the first few seconds seem to baffle the mind, then once the ambient Phil Collins fades in, the anticipation grows. This commercial had me laughing to tears when I first saw it - the timing, and subject matter are just brilliant. Bravo Cadbury!

2. Chris Crocker - Leave Britney Alone!
OMG, we all remember this one - Fox TV immortalized Chris in his shreiking ‘ode’ to Britney. Crocker just nabbed a reality show off the buzz from the video (you have to be kidding me!)

19 Things NOT To Do When Building a Website

8 12 2007

Josian Cole compiled a small list (or fantastic rant) of some very basic and fundamental rules that all webmasters must learn to respect when developing a website that needs to make actual money.

I would also suggest utilizing this by companies looking to hire any web development firm or in the process of evaluating an already deployed website/app project.

Google removes thousands of malware sites

29 11 2007

Google has cleansed more than 40,000 of malware hosting sites from their index, that seemed to be part of an organized SEO attack. OK - you might be thinking, spam search results show up everyday - why is this a big deal? It’s a big deal because the techniques used for these attacks was more clever and thought out than the typical SEO-poisoning.
